Growing Business

What with office moves, new staff and gold awards, 2007 has been a good year for iConsult. Here we let you know a bit about the company's progress so far.

iConsult started life in 2005 with Dan Cattermole and Tony Moffa at the helm. Their vision was for an IT support services company that offered the personal touch which ensures high quality customer service. However, customer service isn’t all that iConsult is about, Dan and Tony’s vision was also for an innovative company providing products and services that were unavailable in the Channel Islands.

2006 saw Steve Neville join the iConsult board, bringing with him leading industry qualifications in Cisco Systems, Citrix and Microsoft. Steve has driven product development of the company’s hosted solutions and built a client base in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

iConnect was the most immediate expression of iConsult’s innovative side. Nobody in the Islands could offer a complete, remotely hosted office network that not only enabled easy budgeting and less downtime but that also creates a business continuity solution by default.

Since 2005, iConsult has brought out iScreen - a complete, remotely hosted mail filtering solution for businesses, iConnectMail – a remotely hosted MS Outlook-based email system and iConnectDR – a cost-effective disaster recovery solution for small businesses.

More recently, iConsult has taken on two new staff members and appointed Steve Stocke as head of engineering. Steve is a highly experienced Engineer from Texas, whose expertise is helping drive iConsult forward. Over the past year there has been a significant increase in client numbers with 85% more by October than at the beginning of the year.

2007 has not relented with 2 additional staff set to join before the year is out in both Jersey and Guernsey.

As well as service provision and technological advances, iConsult is determined to make a difference to the community in which it works. The eWaste initiative has been a huge success with tonnes of unwanted business computer equipment being saved from the scrapheap and redirected to schools and charities across the Channel Islands. In the coming year, it is hoped that new apprenticeship schemes will be set up in conjunction with Island governments to try and boost the image of IT as a fulfilling career choice.
